1. The Colosseum
The Colosseum is a huge landmark that is one of the most well-known structures in the entire world. It was built around 80 AD and was used as an arena for gladiatorial combat. You can take a tour or just walk around it. There are also many shops nearby where you can buy souvenirs for friends and family back home!
2. The Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain is another famous landmark in Rome that you’ll definitely want to visit! This fountain has been standing since 1762, but it wasn’t actually completed until 1762 due to financial issues with construction companies at the time (they were too expensive). You can go inside it as well if you’d like!
3. St Peter’s Basilica
St Peter’s Basilica is one of the largest churches in all of Italy, so if you’re interested in seeing beautiful architecture then this is the place for you! It was built on top of an ancient cemetery called “San Pietro” which means Saint Peter
4. The Vatican Museum
The Vatican Museum contain some of the most famous works of art including Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Ceiling which depicts scenes from Genesis on its ceiling panels; Raphael’s Tapestry Room which contains a series of tapestries depicting scenes from Genesis; and Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper which depicts Jesus’ last supper.
5. The Pantheon
The Pantheon is one of the oldest buildings in Rome and dates back to 126 AD when it was originally built as a temple dedicated to all gods—hence its name “Pantheon.” Today it’s an active church that allows visitors to enter for free during certain hours each day (see website for details). You can also climb up to a platform on top of the dome for an awesome view of Rome.
