Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is a city in Central Java, Indonesia. It has a population of 1,000,000 and is the administrative capital of Yogyakarta Special Region province. The city was Indonesia’s capital during the Indonesian National Revolution from 1945 to 1949. It was also known as Djogjakarta (pronounced dʒoːɡ-jahk-ahr-tah) during the Dutch colonial period until 1949 when it was renamed after its current name.

Mount Bromo is a stratovolcano in East Java, Indonesia. It is one of the most visited tourist destinations in East Java and is popular for its sunrise views of Mount Batok and Mount Penanjakan. Since 2006, the area has been part of Cemoro Lawang Tourism Village, which is at a distance of about 8 kilometers from Probolinggo city center. The highest peak of Mount Bromo is called “Cemoro Lawang” (also known as “Mahameru”, meaning Great Mountain). With an altitude of 2,329 meters above sea level, it offers magnificent views of several volcanoes, including Mount Semeru (3,676 m), Mount Wilis (2,568 m), as well as an active crater lake called Tengah Utara or North Inner Crater Lake.

The area is also popular for hiking due to its amazing landscape that changes throughout the season; during the rainy season there are lots of green grasses while dry seasons see them turn into yellowish-brown colour because of the lack of water supply on these highlands
