Taking the sun in Cancun

Cancun is much closer to the US than other popular beach destinations like Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and Mazatlan. You can reach Cancun from most major US cities in just a few hours by plane. This makes it a convenient getaway for Americans who want to see the world without having to endure a long flight or expensive layovers. It also means that there are many American-based airlines that fly directly from the United States to Cancun International Airport (CUN).

Cancun is warm and humid all year round.

The average temperature in Cancun is 25 degrees Celsius, which makes it one of the most comfortable places to travel to. The humidity is also around 75%, which means that you will likely need lots of water when you visit.

If you’re planning a trip next week, remember that rainstorms are common during the summer season from June through September and hurricanes can occur between July and October. During this time period, there will be an average rainfall of 2 meters per year!

There are ancient ruins nearby.

There are many ruins in Mexico, but one of the most popular is Chichen Itza. Located just two hours from Cancun, it’s worth a trip for anyone interested in Mayan culture and history.

Chichen Itza is considered one of the most important archaeological sites on earth and was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. The ruins are also known for their unique architecture and structures, which include ancient temples and ball courts that were once used for sporting events by the Mayans.

The site contains multiple buildings built between 600 BC and 900 AD, including the Kukulcan Pyramid (the Yucatan Peninsula’s largest pyramid) as well as El Castillo (“the castle”), which stands at over 100 feet tall with nine stories made up of terraces with stairs leading up each level until you reach an altar at its top where sacrifices took place during religious rituals performed by priests who lived nearby during those days before European explorers came to America’s shores

There’s a killer nightlife scene.

Cancun is a great city for lovers of the nightlife scene. The city has plenty of options for those looking to dance and drink, as well as many other activities you can do while you’re there.

There are many nightclubs in Cancun that cater to all types of crowds. One such club is Playa Del Carmen, which offers an upscale experience with live music, DJs and dancing throughout the night. If you’re looking for something more casual or laid back, there are also bars and restaurants that offer live music paired with great food and drinks throughout the evening hours (and sometimes even after).

You can get into the ocean, or just relax on the beach.

You can get into the ocean, or just relax on the beach. There are many beaches in Cancun, and each one has its own vibe. If you want to swim in warm water, sunbathe and enjoy good food (and maybe some sea cucumbers), head over to Playa Delfines. If you want to party all night long with your friends (and maybe some sea cucumbers), head over to Playa Delfines after dark. Just kidding—you’re not going to find sea cucumbers there. It’s a cool place though!

If you’re looking for something more low-key and peaceful, then go west towards Puerto Juarez or east towards Punta Venados at Isla Mujeres instead. You’ll find many beautiful places where there will be no crowds whatsoever during your vacation—just sand and water that stretches out as far as the eye can see.*

There are plenty of great beaches, each with its own vibe.

There are plenty of great beaches, each with its own vibe. You can find a beach for any type of mood, activity or weather! Are you in the mood to party? There’s a beach for that. Do you want to relax and unwind? There’s a beach for that too. What about if it’s cold out and you just want to stay indoors where it’s warm and cozy? No problem! There are plenty of great restaurants in Cancun where the food and drinks will keep your belly full and your mind at ease while you watch tropical storms roll over the horizon.

If you’re still undecided on which beach would be best suited for your needs, we suggest visiting Playa del Secreto or Playa Mujeres (pictured above). Both offer sandy shores with clear blue waters perfect for swimming or soaking up some rays. If getting wet isn’t what floats your boat (or raft), then neither should be off limits either! You’ll find plenty of other activities here like snorkeling tours where guides will take groups out into the ocean so they can interact with sea life such as dolphins or whale sharks while learning about their habits through hands-on interaction such as feeding them treats from an underwater basket mounted on top of their heads using only their mouths (we know this sounds crazy but trust us). The possibilities for fun excursions like these are endless!

Cancun has pretty strict rules about their beach safety measures and other guidelines so you’ll know you’re safe there.

Cancun has pretty strict rules about their beach safety measures and other guidelines so you’ll know you’re safe there.

  • The Beach: You must wear a swimming cap while in the ocean. There are lifeguards everywhere, so if anything happens, they can help right away! You also aren’t allowed to bring any glass bottles onto the beach or into the water with you—if you do, they’ll be confiscated and thrown away immediately.
  • Drinking Alcohol: If you’re looking for a little afternoon relaxation on your vacation, drinking alcohol isn’t allowed on Cancun’s beaches (with few exceptions). However, there are plenty of bars and restaurants with happy hours throughout town that serve delicious drinks at reasonable prices!
  • Littering: There is absolutely no littering allowed anywhere on Cancun’s beaches—not even cigarette butts! If someone sees anyone littering off-hours when there aren’t any lifeguards around (which would be very rare), they will report them immediately so this rule can be enforced quickly and efficiently.
