If you’re going to be traveling solo, it’s always best to choose a destination with plenty of other travelers. For that reason, I’ve put together this list of the best Greek islands to visit alone.

As a popular tourist destination, Santorini is a great place to travel alone. There are many things to see and do, and it’s easy to meet other travelers who will be happy to show you around. You can spend your day taking photos at Oia (the village with white houses) or exploring the volcanic caldera by boat. At night, have dinner in Fira or Imerovigli—both of which offer stunning views of the sunset—and then go dancing in Oia until the wee hours of the morning.

Mykonos island, the best Greek islands to visit alone

Mykonos is definitely one of the best Greek islands to visit alone. We know this island as the party island. It’s full of people from all over the world, and it’s a great place to meet other travelers. It also has a large gay community, so if you’re looking for something more than just a club, you will find it here. The island is great at welcoming everyone into its arms and giving them an unforgettable experience!

Crete is the largest of Greece’s islands, and it’s one of the most beautiful. If you’re looking for an island destination where you can do as much or as little as you want, Crete is a superb choice. In my record, I would call one of the best Greek islands to visit alone.

The beaches are plentiful, with golden sand and turquoise waters that make for some incredible Instagram posts. There are many good restaurants serving Greek cuisine (think fresh seafood and other Mediterranean fare). You’ll also find plenty of hotels to choose from—from budget options to luxury resorts—and lots of activities like hiking up Mount Ida or exploring ancient ruins such as Knossos Palace in Heraklion City.

Samos is the largest of the Greek islands in the northern Aegean Sea and is also known as Samothraki or Samothrace. Its capital, also called Samos, is at the northern tip of the island. It’s known for its beaches and archaeological sites like those found in Pythagorion and Vathy.

Samos was home to several ancient civilizations, including:

  • Ancient Samos (around 3000 BC)
  • Archaic period (800 – 550 BC)
  • Classical period (550 – 323 BC)

According to Lonely Planet, Rhodes is one of the best islands to visit in the winter. The island is famous for its outdoorsy activities like hiking and biking. You can also go swimming at Tsambika Beach, one of the most popular beaches on Rhodes Island.

For a summer trip, I recommend Santorini Island as it’s known for its beautiful sunsets and vibrant culture. For fall and spring trips, I recommend Mykonos Island or Paros Island because they both have wonderful weather throughout these seasons. If you want to get away from busy cities like Athens or Santorini during those seasons then I recommend exploring less-visited islands such as Naxos or Syros instead!

Naxos is among the best Green Islands to visit alone

Naxos is one of the largest islands in the Cyclades group, and it’s loaded with history. People have lived in this island since Neolithic times. Homer mentioned it in The Iliad as being among those that helped Greece fight against Troy. Today, we know Naxos for its abundance of beaches, ancient sites, and winemaking culture. If you want to experience all that this island offers but don’t want to go alone, there are plenty of guided tours available so that you can explore at your own pace while still having some company along the way.

Milos is a small Greek island with a population of less than 5,000. The island is famous for its marble and provides a peaceful day trip from Mykonos or Naxos. Milos has an amazing landscape and many beaches to explore. You’ll find that the weather in summertime is hot, but not too hot since it’s off the coast of Greece – perfect for swimming and sunbathing. In wintertime, you’ll also find that there are still plenty of visitors on the island, but it is less crowded than other popular destinations like Santorini or Crete so you may have more room to yourself!

Syros is one of the best Greek islands to visit alone

Milos islands is the best Greek islands to visit alone

Syros is the perfect Greek island for solo travelers. The island is not as busy as other islands in Greece, so it’s easy to find a quiet spot on your own. This makes it a great place to relax, explore and enjoy the local culture and beautiful scenery.

The island of Syros has some magnificent sights worth visiting. There are several museums that tell you about the history of the area and its people, there are also plenty of beaches where you can swim or relax under the sun. In winter months, when temperatures drop below 0°C (32°F), there are many things to do on the island; such as visiting archaeological sites or enjoying delicious food at restaurants!

When traveling solo, it’s best to choose an island with plenty of other travelers.

While traveling alone, it’s best to choose an island with plenty of other travelers. You’ll have a better chance of meeting new people, making new friends and getting advice on where to go, where to eat, where to stay and so on. Avoid islands that are only frequented by Greek tourists who speak very little English or very few European tourists at all (for example Karpathos). However if you’re feeling adventurous then I would recommend taking your chances on one of those islands too!

Although it’s tempting to pick a remote island, you’ll be happier if you choose one with lots of other travelers. This way, you won’t feel lonely but can meet people who are in the same situation as you and share their experiences. If you’re interested in solo travel, this list should give some ideas on where to go next!
