Seattle is one of the best cities in the US to visit for solo travel. With tons to see and do, it’s a great place to explore on foot and with lots of different modes of transport. Here are some of my favorite things that I’ve done in Seattle:

Solo trip in Seattle

Seattle is a fantastic city for solo travel, with tons to see and do. You can cram in a lot of the best things Seattle has to offer in just a few days, and you’ll have plenty of options if you want to do more than sightsee. You can take a walking tour around the city or lodge in a hostel.

If you’re wondering what to do in Seattle or where to eat, here are some tips based on my experience:

  • See the Space Needle! It’s an iconic symbol of Seattle and offers great views from its rooftop deck. During your trip, it is worth checking it out at least once. It is definitely the thing to do alone.
  • Go shopping at Pike Place Market! This historic market is full of delicious food vendors as well as shops selling local products like fresh seafood and handmade crafts. There’s also live music playing throughout the day here so that adds another level of entertainment.

The Pike Place Market is where the fish throwers have been entertaining crowds since the 1900s.

Next, you’ll want to check out the Pike Place Market. You may need a solo travel guide. There are so many fun things to do on your Seattle solo travel.

This is where the fish throwers have been entertaining crowds since the 1900s. They still do it today!

The market was an old public market that was built in 1907 and has since become one of Seattle’s most visited landmarks. There are many different kinds of shops and vendors here, including some local produce stands.

Stay in Seattle as a Solo Travel

Once you arrive on Bainbridge Island, you’ll find it offers beautiful views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. And while there are plenty of things to do on the island—including hiking, kayaking, and biking—the most popular activity is simply exploring its many quaint shops and restaurants.

But if you’re looking for something more adventurous (and less crowded), there’s also an opportunity to take a ferry or seaplane to Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands. This trip will take about 35 minutes from Seattle, but will make you feel like you’ve traveled thousands of miles away from the city.

Planning your Solo Trip

On sunny days everyone in Seattle heads to Alki Beach and Lincoln Park. This is a great place to go for a walk, rent a bike, or just sit on the beach. There are also great views of the city from here. It’s a perfect spot for taking pictures!

Traveling Alone in Seattle

If you’re interested in aviation, the Museum of Flight is a must-see. Located on the western edge of Lake Union, this independent non-profit museum features more than 250 air and spacecraft from around the world. There are exhibits about famous planes such as the Wright 1903 Flyer and Concorde SST, but don’t overlook the lesser known ones—the museum’s collection also includes a replica of Orville Wright’s bicycle shop!

For art enthusiasts, check out the Chihuly Garden & Glass Museum located in downtown Seattle near Pike Place Market. It contains three galleries featuring more than 200 pieces of glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly including one made entirely with local materials like driftwood or beach glass. If you’re traveling with kids there is also an interactive gallery where they can make their own artwork on site using colored pencils and watercolor paints!

Lastly try visiting The Seattle Art Museum during Third Thursday when admission is free from 5pm – 9pm every third Thursday (yes even on public holidays).

Traveling to Seattle alone (Things to do in Seattle and around Seattle)

Seattle Waterfront at Night

The Columbia Center Observatory is the tallest building in Seattle and offers 360 degree views of the city from its 73rd floor. You’ll need to book your tour in advance (though you can do this online), and it’s not cheap ($23 for adults, $11 for children), but if you want to see everything from up high and get a feel for how Seattle looks from above, it’s a must-visit.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, there’s also a small observation deck on top of the tower with glass barriers that allow you to lean over without falling off (or getting run over by an airplane).

Solo Trip to Seattle Museum of Pop Culture

One of the best things about Seattle is that it’s a very walkable city, especially if you’re someone who enjoys being outdoors. If you’re traveling alone and not used to walking long distances, make sure you take advantage of the bus system! It’s easy to navigate and will help save your feet.

There are also multiple museums that offer free entry on Fridays: The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) and Pacific Science Center are both open until 9pm on First Fridays, which takes place in April through November. The Center for Wooden Boats and Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) both offer free admission until 5pm on Friday nights during this period. If you feel like checking out some galleries on First Fridays, head over to Capitol Hill where there are plenty of art galleries with openings every month!

It might be helpful for solo travelers planning their trip ahead of time if they could possibly find something related specifically toward their interests or hobbies since these tend better suited towards groups rather than individuals by themselves as there’ll likely be other people with similar interests or hobbies present at those events/places which makes them easier places/times where one can meet others while traveling alone.”

Go check it out as a solo traveler on your solo travel

Seattle is a great place to visit, whether you’re exploring all the sites with a friend or traveling solo. If you haven’t checked out any of these places yet, then I highly recommend that you do!

  • The Pike Place Market – This bustling market is packed with shops, restaurants and entertainment. You can find anything from fresh produce to handmade crafts and hand-made jewelry in this eclectic marketplace. You’ll also see some of the most famous fish throwers in the world at work here!
  • Chihuly Garden & Glass – This museum contains works by glass artist Dale Chihuly as well as his personal collection of glass pieces from around the world. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re into art or just want something different to do while visiting Seattle!
  • Museum of Flight – This museum chronicles aviation history through interactive exhibits that allow visitors to experience flight firsthand. There are also many airplanes on display that were used throughout history such as Charles Lindbergh’s Spirit Of St Louis airplane which he flew across America after completing his historic solo flight from New York City to Paris back in 1927 (the first person ever) as well as others like Amelia Earhart’s Lockheed Vega 5B above where she disappeared without a trace somewhere over open ocean near Howland Island during her attempted round-the-world flight in 1937 after being lost due possibly due either bad weather conditions or mechanical failure within engine system itself leading toward her death soon thereafter…

Conclusion

Seattle is a great city for solo travelers to explore. You don’t have to worry about being bored, because there’s always something going on in this wonderful place!
